Liz was so kind and welcoming. She provided so much information about the area and things to do. The farm is absolutely stunning. We loved being able to walk around the property and see all of the animals.

Very atmospheric old cottage just off the highway, with a relaxed atmosphere. Roomy accommodation with great reclining chairs. Ate up at Waitomo at the TOMO eatery- very good. Would have been a great base to explore the rest of the area if time permitted. Hosts kindly offered to post on a lost penguin- thanks.

It was such a great property for kids. Each of the units were super private. We stayed in the Train Unit and the view was lovely. There was a surprising amount of space internally as well. It was also really close to the Waitomo Caves. The hosts were so accommodating and check in was super easy. We can’t recommend this property enough!

We didn’t actually visit the Waitomo Caves , but explored other caves and geological features in the area, which are outstanding. Visit the Marakopa waterfall, The Piripiri caves, the Maungapohue Natural Bridge, the Ruakuri walkway ( including spectacular caves) and continue driving out to beautiful Marakopa and on to Kiritehere beach. Such a lot to see within an hours drive!

Absolutely amazing experience, definitely once in a lifetime :) the staff at Waitomo Caves experience were so good, made my friend and I feel so safe and enjoy the experience immensely. Very knowledgeable and entertaining as well! We did the Blackwater rafting experience and I thought it was the perfect length of time- about 3 hours- weren't in the water for long enough to get cold or need to pee!! Highly recommend.

BECAUSE OF THE THREATENED CYCLONE LOTS OF PEOPLE HAD CANCELLED THEIR VISIT SO WE MANAGED TO GET AN EARLIER TOUR. HOWEVER AS THE RIVER HAD RISEN WE HAD TO ENTER AND EXIT CAVE THROUGH THE SAME ROUTE, NOT A PROBLEM BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE LEFTTHE CAVE ON THE BOAT. THE TOUR AROUND THE CAVE WAS GREAT AND THE BOAT RIDE TO SEE THE GLOW WORMS WAS BRILLIANT.

Excellent place to visit.

Excellent place to visit. It is unique as I didn't see other places similar before. I'd recommend to others for sure. Though it was easy to get there from Auckland, to go back Auckland it was not easy as taxi or Uber was difficult to find at Waitomo caves. One advice I got afterwards was to check on websites like Kiwitrips and maybe hire a car for a day.

I have visited a few other caves and I was disappointed that there were not many glow worms to see. I would not recommend this trip however if you haven't visited many caves then you may enjoy it. After the visit we drove to a waterfall not far from the caves and this was good.

Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great.

Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great. Our tour guide held the kids' attention the entire way and answered all of their questions. The caves are amazing to see and this walking tour is just the right length, even for young kids. Don't forget to book ahead and take a warm top as it is quite chilly down there.

For a simple Kiwi breakfast, it was great, the host provides all the necessary ingredients, such as spreads, all different jams in a one serving package for the toast, really handy and hygienic. Our kids love the options for cereal. Exceptional for a budget stay. Really comfortable, nice rural view, amenities covered the needs.
