The Conigre has been home to local couple Andy and Justina Lee and their family since Jan 2020. Andy is your principal host throughout the week. Justina enjoys helping out and meeting guests at weekends. You may well meet other family members who assist us from time to time. A 17th Century former farmhouse, The Conigre is a small and friendly family-run hotel full of rustic charm and character. It is uniquely located close to the centre of Melksham. Park up in our car park and enjoy a short stroll to the many pubs, excellent restaurants and other local amenities in this bustling market town. The Conigre has 8 individually styled, warm and charming guest rooms, either in the main house or in the converted stable block with easy access to our courtyard/car park. Melksham is a historic market town and thriving business centre in the heart of Wiltshire, perfectly situated for exploring the Georgian City of Bath, the National Trust Village of Lacock and the cluster of other National Trust properties on our door step. Enjoy a cycle or walk along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal and visit the fascinating Caen Hill fight of Locks. The World Heritage sites of Stonhenge and Avebury, as well as Longleat, Castle Combe and Salisbury are all easily accessible. Book your stay with us if you are attending an event at The Assembly Hall. We also offer accommodation for the Bath Half Marathon, Devizes to Westminster canoe race, Badminton Horses Trials, Chippenham Folk Festival and the increasingly popular Bath Christmas Market weekends. We are situated approximately 20 minutes from Junction 17 of the M4 (Chippenham), giving swift access to Swindon and Bristol.
