Authentic Scotland! The pub had a wood fire burning in the grate, good beer on tap and locals ready to chat. Great dinner on site after a long drive, a delicious full Scottish breakfast in the morn and the room was very cozy. Loved everything...

We arrived a little bit late to get dinner anywhere, but our hostess was very accomodating. We bought a frozen dinner at the nearby mini store and she heated it up for us and had us eat in the dining room. She tried her best to make us comfortable.

My room was super clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was really comfortable, too. The welcome was inviting and warm, which was appreciated after a very long day of travel. Lisa went above and beyond to help me order pizza delivery...

The room was excellent and Leane was extremely helpful. If you're doing the St Cuthbert's Way, the route passes very close, so the location is good from that perspective.

Company info

Our Own Story, Poured into Every Pint. After 25 years in the oil and gas industry, I decided it was time to swap pipelines for pints. As a retirement gift to myself, I bought a little pub in central Scotland — never imagining that the real treasure would be found in the kitchen. Cath, with over 20 years of hospitality experience and a gift for creating mouthwatering, home-cooked dishes, was the chef. One night, between the clatter of pans and the scent of fresh herbs, she stole my heart. We ran that first pub with passion, but the long hours took their toll, and we eventually sold it. Now, in the beautiful Scottish Borders, we’ve found our new home — and our new pub, the Dryburgh Arms, acquired in August 2025. Here, we’re blending Cath’s exceptional Scottish cooking with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, where every guest is treated like an old friend. We personally have had an incredible welcome here, from the amazing friendly local population - so come in, pull up a chair, and let us share our love and passion — for food, for people, for good memorable times with you - and remember you are always assured of the famous Scottish Borders welcome here!
