Check-in process with a "greeter" was very helpful. The boat was spacious, well furnished and clean. Beds were comfortable. My granddaughter was thrilled with her private cabin at the stern. The washer & dryer were useful and worked well....

Unique accommodations in a very quiet area close to tube station and groceries and restaurants. It was fully equipped for cooking which was nice. The beds were comfy enough and the space was super cozy.

It was a very unique stay, and we had much more room on the barge than we thought we would have. It was an excellent location, and it was actually way more quiet than I anticipated given the location. We felt very safe and there were plenty of...

Location was perfect. Easy access to transportation, good restaurants, etc. At night is so quite you hardly know you are in the center of a huge city. Neighbors were kind and welcoming. Host was always available.

Very comfortable, unique, and way nicer than the comparably priced apartments! Area was quiet at night and we had zero issues with temperature. Note there are short steep ladderlike steps to access most of the boat (no issues for us). Twin room is...

We loved staying on the barge. Having a coffee or glass of wine on the deck whilst taking in the surroundings was amazing. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby as well as a large supermarket minutes away.

Fantastic location, quiet and convenient, supermarket nearby. Good restaurants and transport options. The Dickens Inn was great for dinner and the Tower of London was so close.

"We had breakfast every morning on the top deck with pastries from the local shop." That is what guests say about our Dutch barge at St Katharine Docks. Built in 1916 and moored beside Tower Bridge, she gives you the whole boat and a private sun deck to yourself. Days start with coffee on deck looking across the harbor to the Thames, and evenings end by the wood-burning stove in the saloon. The barge sleeps six. The main cabin has a queen bed, and the aft cabin at the opposite end has two single beds plus an additional bunk, sleeping three, with real privacy between the two ends of the boat. In the saloon between them you have a sofa bed, wood-burning stove, air conditioning, central heating, and a smart TV, opening to a compact galley with a breakfast bar. There is one bathroom with a shower, and steps lead down into the cabins from the main deck. Guests are often surprised by how much room there is on board, with more space than a hotel and the whole boat to themselves. The location is the other draw. You are about a quarter mile from Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and Tower Hill Underground, roughly a five-minute walk. The marina is gated, quiet, sheltered, and secure, with a coffee and pastry shop, restaurants, and a Tesco Express a short walk along the dock. Most guests arrive without a car, since the central location and transport links make getting around easy.Good to know: this is a converted 1916 barge, and that is the charm, but she lives differently from a house or hotel. The bathroom and shower are compact, though hot water is plentiful with strong pressure. Getting around means steps down into the cabins and a gangway from the dock, so she is not step-free. As a working residential marina, there can be a faint, occasional smell of fuel that guests say is not bothersome. Check-in is in person, you are met at the dock entrance and shown everything on board. Check-in after 4 PM, checkout before 11 AM. Sleeps 6. No pets, no smoking, no parties.
We are available and happy to help guests with any problems, questions or advice.
