Come & enjoy Pettifers, an enchanting, customer-focused Family-owned hotel in the heart of these glorious Cotswolds - parts dating back to 1638. This lovely old agricultural site has 18 unique rooms over ground & 1st floor, offering Classic Doubles, Super king Large Rooms, Family rooms for 3 or 4 and 2 ground floor accessible rooms with Cotswold Stone wet rooms – super Dog friendly so leave no-one at home! Rustic and unfussy, yet well appointed & appealing where ancient and modern blended with colorful furnishings and present a lively Bar & Cozy, relaxing lounge, plus lovely walled gardens. Add to this, 3 large car parks, easily accessible from both road & rail. We are pleased to announce the opening of Asha Indian Kitchen! They have taken over all our Food & Beverage here at Pettifers. They will be open Monday to Saturday from 5.30pm - 9pm, please contact the Hotel for more information or to book a table. Please note that as Asha's is closed on Sunday Evenings there will also be no Bar open on Sunday Evenings. Breakfast remains unaffected and will be available everyday for those on a Bed & Breakfast Basis.

We are all huge dog lovers ( all animals really, Owner's a Vets Daughter!!) and are very happy for Guests to bring along their beloved hounds, a locally paid supplement applies - PLEASE do contact us before booking to ensure we have Dog Friendly rooms available, it cannot be guaranteed post booking . We've been here for 19 years in July 2025 and have welcomed over 100,000 Guests in that time , now we're looking forward to You being next !

Welcome to our bit of Cotswold History & Charm - Pettifers & Sons dates back to 16thC , famous Vetinerary Apothecaries tending to the Cotswold valued livestock of yester-year - now our building houses lovely hotel guests as a family owned Independent hotel. We offer Small Doubles for solo use, Classic & Large Doubles for 1 or 2 Guests (there is a extra charge for our Large Rooms to be set up as with Twin beds) , Family Rooms for 3 or 4 Guests too. Only 5 minutes by car from The Cotswold Lakes, Kemble train station, Cotswold Airport and 15 minutes from junction 17 of the M4. or the old Capital of the Cotswolds Cirencester. 3 LARGE and FREE off-road car parks & safe-space for bicycles.

Neighborhood info

We are situated in the an ideal location for visiting areas of interest... Malmesbury 'the oldest borough in England' with the 12th Century Abbey, Tetbury with Highgrove House and Westonbirt Arboretum with it's new STIHL treetop walkway are all within 10 minutes drive from the hotel. We are on the west side of the fabulous Cotswold Lakes ( was Water Park) with its 140+ great lakes, SSSI reserves, coarse & fly fishing, bird watching, cycling, miles of footpaths alongside the Thames and the popular Country Park and Beach! Slightly further, but still close enough for a day out is Slimbridge wildlife reserve, Stow-on-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and for a day our shopping Bath & Cheltenham.
