Sorbietrees is an 18th century farmhouse which was once the home of William Armstrong, famous for his untimely death - read more about William on our website. Today it is a warm, homely and welcoming 3 star GOLD B&B and an ideal base for exploring the Scottish Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Cumbria and Northumberland. We are also home to some of the darkest skies in the UK. Stay with us to visit Kielder Observatory (prior booking essential). Sit in our garden and admire the stars, planets and milky way on a clear night.

There are plenty of things to do while staying at Sorbietrees. Kielder Water, the largest manmade lake in Europe, Kielder Observatory, Hadrian's Wall, Gretna Green, Castles and Abbeys of the Borders, Hermitage Castle, Walking, Cycling, golf, or just relaxing
