Swallows Rest is our first project. We have loving converted what was a derelict old stone barn into a beautiful cottage. We obtained planning permission in 2017, since then we have had 2 children and got married! We finally opened our doors on the 4th January 2023 and we already have many bookings, we look forward to welcoming many guests in the future to the beautiful location and surrounding attractions.

Located 4 miles from the idyllic market town of Leek, Swallows Rest is an 18th century stone barn which has been lovingly restored, oozing character and boasting modern living facilities in the heart of the English countryside. Sitting on the border of the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire Dales and the Staffordshire Moorlands you will never be short of fantastic walking trails, rock climbing opportunities or visiting the nearby towns and villages. With outstanding views reaching for miles across the rolling hills of the Peak District, enjoy your favourite beverage or locally sourced bbq delights while relaxing in front of a crackling fire, seeking out the abundance of local wildlife such as buzzards, deer, barn owls, kestrels to name just a few we see often out in the valley.

Elkstones is a picturesque little hamlet on the edge of the Peak District National Park, bordering the outstanding Staffordshire Moorlands and a stones throw from ‘The Roaches’, a truly unique area of natural beauty which simply must be seen! A short walk to the top and you will be rewarded with the most breathtaking views across the Staffordshire Moorlands and Cheshire plains. Swallows Rest also resides just a 20 minute drive from the famous Alton Towers theme park, a must do for the thrill seekers out there! The surrounding countryside is home to miles and miles of walking paths which wind through the valleys, up and down the dales, with plenty of local pubs to call at along the way and enjoy a hearty meal with a locally brewed craft ale. There are so many beauty spots to be explored in the area such as Chatsworth House, Dovedale, Tissington Trail, Bakewell, Hartington, Buxton, Ashbourne, Peak Wildlife Park and many many more, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
