Meet Kristen and Alvaro. Originally from Ontario and Andalusia, they’ve made their home in this Georgian townhouse, blending warmth and Mediterranean ease with English heritage. Kristen gravitates toward cosy fires and country walks, while Alvaro brings warmth, texture, and a love of emerald tiles and plants. Together, they’ve shaped The Corner House to feel characterful, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming. Eva, their friendly dog, completes the welcome.

Shipston-on-Stour is a historic market town set among rolling countryside on the edge of the north Cotswolds. With its honeyed stone buildings and traditional High Street, it makes an ideal base for exploring the north Cotswolds and the villages of south Warwickshire. Independent cafés, welcoming pubs and small local shops sit just steps from the house. Start the morning at Ferment & Flour for coffee and freshly baked bread, browse antiques and vintage shops along the High Street, or settle in for lunch or dinner at The Horseshoe or Bastardo’s Trattoria. Just across the street, a local wine shop with underground cellars is perfect for discovering a bottle to enjoy later. The town’s narrow lanes reflect its past as a wool and sheep market, and beyond the centre you’ll find open countryside, walking routes and sweeping rural views.
