After a long day walking along the South West Coastal path, fossil hunting at Lulworth Cove or just spending a relaxing day on the beaches of Studland, Swanage or Weymouth, enjoy a drink in our secluded courtyard garden. The Cottage Studio has its own access via a single gate leading to the courtyard garden. The Cottage Studio is a large ground floor studio/family en-suite room in a charming Grade II listed thatched cottage in the heart of the delightful Isle of Purbeck. The accommodation is suitable for 2 adults but can be converted for an extra 1 child as there is a double sofa bed in the room. The Studio has an en-suite shower, sink and toilet facilities with fresh towels, soap and shampoo provided for your stay. You can relax in the evening on the comfy sofa and arm chair and either watch television, enjoy a pleasant read or play a board game that are all available in the room. There are tea/coffee facilities (please note there are no kitchen facilities), There is also a breakfast dining table in the room and a garden table outside in the courtyard garden to enjoy a glass of wine in the sun and or have breakfast and listen to the birdsong in the morning. *** Also Checkout our other space The Piggery at the Cottage!***
We live here in Dorset in a beautiful Grade II listed thatched cottage on the Isle of Purbeck close to the World Heritage site the Jurassic Coast. We enjoy the walks that are on offer only a few minutes from our home and along the stunning coastline of the Jurassic Coast We are often seen in picturesque Poole Harbour and Studland Bay on our sailing boat called Molly messing about on the water. You can often find us in the locals haunts such as the Castle Inn , West Lulworth, the Sailors Return in East Chaldon and our own local hostelry the Black Bear in Wool, enjoying the abundant local food and drink Dorset has to offer Come and join us and see for yourself!
Wool is in the heart of the Purbeck region and provides easy access to everything the Purbecks have to offer. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are only 5 minutes drive away as is Monkey World and Bovington Tank museum. Wareham, Dorchester, Weymouth and Poole are easily accessed by train or car and the Mainline station to London station is only a 5 minute walk away. There is a bus stop directly outside the cottage that takes visitors around the Purbeck region and there are number of trusted taxi firms we can recommend if needed. We have three pubs in the village, The Black Bear, The Ship and The Severn Stars that serve food and there is a SPAR mini mart 100 yards from the cottage, we also have a bakers and chinese takeaway close by. If you fancy going further afield Wareham has a good selection of pubs and restaurants and a lovey Quayside with two pubs an Italian restaurant. A visit to Wareham Quay is highly recommended and its only 7 mins by car or train, there are also boats to hire on the river and river trips every 30 mins. The beaches at Swanage, Studland and Weymouth are very popular but for the more adventurous there are secluded beaches at Mupe Bay, Worbarrow Bay.
