The property was GORGEOUS, both outside (old world charm and neighborhood) and inside (renovated and perfectly decorated). The food was AMAZING! We had a private three course breakfast prepared by Wendy. She was lovely! The owners and staff...

The host (Laura) was exceptional in her efforts to enhance our stay. The place obviously focuses on the experience down to every detail. The breakfast served at a time of our choosing was top shelf, as was the stay itself.

Stumbled into Culross via a hedgerow lane (how does one handle an oncoming vehicle?) to emerge onto the tiny, market-cross square employed as Craigsmure in Outlander, then realize Dundonald Guesthouse is just steps around the corner. This...

We were born and brought up in the local area then spent the last 20 years travelling for work. Adventures in Copenhagen, Croatia, Mallorca, Lisbon, Tulum and the Muskokas in Canada inspired us to return home and create something special of our own.

Property info

Nestled in the cobbled causeways, The Dundonald Guesthouse & Cottage proudly takes centre stage in the historic village of Culross. The Dundonald has been welcoming guests for 170 years providing needed rest, relaxation, and refreshments to travellers and visitors of Culross. Our circa 1850 Coach House Inn has been lovingly restored to offer luxury accommodation in the former Royal Burgh of Culross where slow paced village life is daily reality, steeped in history and immersed within galleries, an abbey, castles, a palace, cafes and a local pub.

Neighborhood info

Close your eyes and it’s easy to imagine the gentle clip-clop of hooves on the cobbled causeway leading to this ancient coach house in the heart of Culross, an enchanting 17thC town between Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth. Its streets are paved with old, from the ruinous beauty of the hillside abbey to the magnificent mustard-hued palace – and you may well recognise it: this is a popular film location, and the bonnie backdrop for Outlander.
