I've lived and worked in the borough for over 30 years and love the town and all its character. I work on Little Street and live a short bike ride away, so I'm on hand if required.  I can advise on local eateries, bars and attractions as well as the best hikes and bike rides and other leisure activities.

Property info

The Little St Apartment is in the heart of Macclesfield. Tucked away, just off the main shopping street of Chestergate. The Little Street Silk Mill was one of Macclesfield's earliest silk mills and the apartment is one of a number of Grade II listed buildings on the historic cobbles of Little Street. A short 7 min walk from Macclesfield Train Station, conveniently close to restaurants, bars, museums, cinema and supermarkets. The apartment is superbly placed for a convenient stay in the town.The apartment has undergone an extensive renovation, revealing and making good original features, as well as providing excellent facilities for a well appointed place to stay.

Neighborhood info

Chestergate is bustling with cafes, shops and restaurants. There is a choice of supermarkets in the town, with Sainsburys a short walk from the apartment. There is restricted vehicular access on Little Street, but guests and residents are allowed vehicular access onto the street to drop off luggage, taxi drop-offs etc. This makes for a quieter street, despite being in the heart of town. There is the council run 'Whalley Hayes' pay and display car park which is a 1 minute walk from Little Street where guests can park (use postcode SK10 1BX in the satnav to find the carpark). The Treacle Market is held on the last Sunday of each month (10am-5pm) and the many artisan food and local craft stalls on Chestergate and the Town Square are well worth a visit.
