If you want to explore further, just 1.5 miles away from your luxury holiday cottage is Leyburn’s pretty market square. For the constantly curious, Leyburn stands out as one of North Yorkshire’s most vibrant market towns, brimming with unique shops, lively markets, and fascinating local history. Campbell’s of Leyburn food shop in the Market Place has a traditional butchery counter, delicatessen, and arguably one of the finest wine selections in the North. Other convenience stores and a butcher are found in the marketplace. The Stables also acts as the perfect base for explorers seeking to uncover the hidden gems North Yorkshire has to offer. There are some stunning waterfalls close by; make sure you visit Aysgarth Falls or the highest unbroken waterfall, Hardraw Force. We highly recommend driving to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal near Ripon, a lovely day out, just don’t forget to take your camera. Newby Hall and Gardens is another well-known spot to visit near Ripon; a Georgian house & gardens set on 25 acres, with a shop, café, exhibits & a seasonal adventure playground. Then do stop off at Brymor Ice Cream near Masham on the way back!
