Next Melbourne Cup I would simply purchase general entry tickets $199 asthevElms VIP tickets where over valued due to poor track viewing( their elevated viewing stand consisted of a deck up 5 stairs from ground level where you could see jockeys helmets on a 10n corner of racetrack. Also we ( I mean 8 other guests not with me that I met on day) had to nearly physically remove a free welcome cocktail from the bar as well as forfeit our included $30 drinks and food Boucher as it would not scan and the bar also did not accept cash. Really poor knowledge and direction on day given by staff to wherevto initially obtain the welcome drink and absolutely NO clue or advice to help any of us to claim our $30 VOUCHER. ThecVIP ticket vost $350 for open air no cover in rain deck a meter of ground. Sad. Need tovaddress this with the ACCC. Thank goodness we were all resilient people and decided not to allow this experience to ruin a fabulous day out as we danced the day away and had many laughs and a few small wins on the track.

So beautiful however wear comfortable shoes. Take an umbrella if the weather looks like it's going to rain, because it most definitely will or take sunscreen as the sun may burn 😂 even when it's cloudy

Melbourne cup day is exciting. We booked seating , however the weather and the view from our seats wasn't the best. As a older person, if I were to go again, I would pay extra to book seating in one of the glassed grandstands with a meal included. The spectacle of the horses and the colour is amazing.

We lined up for an hour and half to get drinks. The number of patrons on the day is expected - the venue is poor at catering to crowds this size. Also significantly lacks any shade or protection from elements down near lawn.
