Ngaire greeted us as we arrived & offered excellent explanations on hikes and other areas of interest as well as eateries. The place was FULL of wildlife: birds, “Roos”, wallabies, was that frogs we heard at night? We felt as one with nature at this special place. The place (cabin) was complete home away from home offering comfort (our room was w/o a tub) & serenity. A wonderful experience from Los Angeles travelers! We felt the staff was truly passionate & put love & care to their place.

Location in itself was enough for me, Close to Main St, Woolies, Maccas, garage. Close to J ward and Aradale and of course the Grampians. Hosts were fantastic even though he didn't want to talk Cricket HA HA. Rooms was spacious and the shower was magnificent. All up great place and an even better location.

we loved the location and the animals the staff are fantastic, we had a spa family room and it was awesome, we will definitely be staying here when we visit again, also the pub and its meals were beautiful with fantastic staff and great selection of beverages after the hike.

We were in one of the cabins. They are spacious and comfortable and well equipped.
The warmed pools were a highlight. The surroundings are beautiful.
Also the camping common area seemed well equipped and cosy.

Located at the foot of Gariwerd (Grampians) which is a magnificent national park. Plenty of good places to eat. Would have loved to have stayed longer but we will be back!

Apart from Lovely, clean and private accommodation at Lake Tyrrell motel., I became ill from Some unknown calls, and begin vomiting, and having a smashing headache and being very sick. The Lake Terrell cleaning lady After her shift, drove me in to town because I was on foot. She took me to the hospital. The people at the hospital were extraordinary. They took every test they could think of, got me a telly health doctor on video and medication. Then… Get this… The nurse drove me. Into town to my next destination that I needed to get too. I stayed in town near the hospital, then, at the pub, so I could be in town,. Because I was so ill, I could not move or go home, so I ended up in Christmas day alone in my room. The staff at the pub Heard about this, and arrived at my door with roast pork and meat and vegetables and pudding and wine from their own Christmas dinner. I couldn’t believe it. Walking around sea lake, you hear about friendly towns, but this is ridiculous… Each person I passed said g’day all waved. Other stopped me in the street and chat about where I come from. I went to the pool and had a beautiful swim in the pool was free. Although I was ill, I will remember see lake. It was beautiful.

The location was perfect for us, as my husband had to be at the hospital early the next morning for surgery. Being so close made everything much easier and took a lot of stress off us. The accommodation was comfortable and suited our needs for a short stay. It was quiet, convenient, and exactly what we needed at the time.
What we didn’t like:
There wasn’t anything major we didn’t like. Our stay was brief and mainly for hospital access, and for that purpose it met our expectations well.

Close to the Grampians (Halls Gap 43 klm).
Close to the Grampians (Halls Gap 43 klm). Lots of shops to buy food, especially during the day. Major supermarkets there (Woolworths, Aldi, IGA), Mc Donald's, KFC for fast food. RSL have good price beer but was noisy. Would of been better if the music was turned down. Not far from Lake Fyans. Short drive to Green Hill lake reserve. Free camping but also a nice place to go for a walk.
Great view from the lookout in town. If you drive an electric car charging rates are 75 cents per kwh at the NMRA charging station.

Lovely town. Friendly people. Dig deep to find special spots of interest. The old Holden museum. The pinball museum played for an hour , certainly bought back memories. The family nights at the pub, raffles were great fun.

Dimboola is a hidden treasure.
Dimboola is a hidden treasure. The Dimboola Motel was super clean. Dimboola Store is a must stop for coffee and breakfast. Best coffee and scrambled eggs we had on our 6 week trip. The Victoria Hotel is an award winning pub with antiques and artwork. The most tender calamari meal I have ever eaten. Huge meal, too! The main street, parks and township generally are just beautiful. The community is positive and friendly. Highly recommend travellers to visit and support this gorgeous place.

Stawell used to be a bright vibrant town,but due to industry leaving it is slowly dying a slow death.
Looks drab and depressing.
So many closed shops drab shop fronts,and empty Main Street makes for no shopping 🛍️ there is none…all hotels closed used to be 5 now only one and a trackside taberet club,with overpriced meals it’s ridiculous.
Arboretum gone, big hill viewing hil a disgrace. So sad it was once so beautiful..
The Cato lake is Stawells only redeeming quality.

Lovely spot to stay the night in, a morning stroll down the main street with plenty of coffee options to choose from. The botanic gardens are lovely and the BP by the roundabout, fills up your tank and washes your windscreen while they fill. Excellent old school service.

Hopetoun is a friendly, pretty small town with a beautiful lake. It is a great base to explore the Mallee and the Silo Art Trail.
The community hotel provides good evening meals. The Meals Box is to be recommended for its delicious homemade Indian curries as well as great coffee and takeaways. There is a small, well-stocked IGA supermarket in town. Be aware of weekend, opening hours to purchase supplies. Accommodation is available at the motel, caravan park as well as a couple of holiday rentals.
A great place for a getaway to enjoy the big Mallee skies. Best to avoid the height of summer.
