"Art gallery was interesting, friendly helpful staff, Recommend Curtis Cruise, commentary on cruise of harbour and Curtis Island excellent. Information centre helpful. Had a bit of trouble getting around town, maps we were given print was so small on street names, needed magnifying glass, suggest to tourist board check this out."

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was just a bed, small closet, and a mirror. But it was fine as I was just passing through for 1 night. Bed was very comfortable. Shared bathroom was very clean. I stayed on a Friday night and I was a bit worried about bar noise travelling to my room, but I found no issues

The pool was laprge, clean and warm apn security gate kept the use for residents only. Food was very good and there was a singer while we ate. Would definitely stay here again. Cania Gorge and the related dam are well worth a visit particularly if you are a hiker, bush walker. Lots of wildlife to see and the geology of the gorge itself. Lovely drive up the Boyne Valley to get there via Monto. Park and facilities are well kept and clean.

Where we stayed was quiet and away from the town ,which we liked. It was only 6 mins away from the ferry to Keppel island and had a great restaurant at the marina too. The town had lots to choose from re food and shops. Also the beach front it wonderful especially for kids. People were friendly.

Agnes Water and nearby 1770 is a lay back region with a few hidden gems. Go to the Tourist Information Centre first to get a map of where things are. There is one Op-Shop, but it is cheap and extensive and worth going to. There is a few shops. There is a good one at the garage, so don't miss it. There are take away shops, restaurants and a tavern. The tavern is great for a hot lunch. Make sure you go on the Larc (Light Amphibious Recovery Craft). There is a one hour, 2 hour and full day tours. These are worth the money and an enjoyable experience. The day tour is the best and a bucket list item.

We had a beautiful stay in Bargara.

We had a beautiful stay in Bargara. The location is perfect, right by the ocean with stunning views and easy access to cafes and walking paths. The area feels peaceful and safe, ideal for families and relaxing getaways. The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the pool and spa were a lovely bonus. Sunrises and sunsets were absolutely breathtaking from the balcony. If anything, a few small details in the apartment could be updated, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. Would definitely recommend Bargara for a relaxing coastal escape and would happily return.

Surprised by the size of the town.

Surprised by the size of the town. Stayed for 2 nights which was about right. Tourist information provided us with all we needed to know. The staff there were so much fun and very helpful. Restaurants, cafes and an art walk around town with a lovely local gallery. The large easel, with Van Gogh’s Sunflowers is a must see. Marraboon dam was a short drive away and the botanic gardens provided a lovely afternoon place to stroll. Visit the historic station… very clean and well-maintained. Plenty of options for eating. Fairbairn Bakery definitely worth a stop. Great for a short stay on the way to and from Longreach.
