Fantastic location with great views. Comfortable, spacious and clean. But the best part has to be the people. Dylan is a credit to his parents. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and we can’t thank him enough for his generosity and help. Legend!

Great nights sleep, AIR CON rooms! Zero external noise, high quality furnishings. Breakfast was great and staff are extremely friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Much better than expected.

We have stayed here before and will be visiting again. Nothing is too much trouble and you’re met with a smile and made to feel most welcome. Room first class, slept so well. Can certainly recommend Hotel and the area.

I loved the elegant, spacious room, great shower, clean and fantastic hot tub, and our private garden. Oh, and a delicious breakfast served in our room. And Helpful, kind hosts.

We've just left The Cavendish after a one night stay and couldn't wait to write a review. Wow - what a place. I've been to The Cavendish before for food and drinks and it has always been a favourite of mine in Cartmel however I had never stayed over before. I booked the room and told my partner how amazing the place is for food and drinks - she was expecting big things and The Cavendish did not fail to deliver. We stayed in room 7 which we felt lucky to have been allocated with its view over the back garden and with the priory in sight. The room was lovely, spacious, warm and had great tea and coffee facilities. The bed was very comfortable and there was absolutely no noise from the pub downstairs. A classic Inn-style room. Onto the food. I had had food at The Cavendish before and my last visit I had the steak and ale pie which I was delighted to see had been kept on the menu. To start we had the mackerel croquettes and crab croutes which were both lovely. Great portion sizes and very tasty. I had to have the steak and ale pie again and it was just as nice as the last time I had it. OUTSTANDING. One of the nicest restaurant pie's I've ever had - cannot recommend it enough. The side of chips and sweet red cabbage are perfect accompaniments. My partner had the chicken and gnocchi dish which she was stunned by. I think the chicken has genuinely had a profound impact on her as she's still talking about it 24hrs later and I suspect she will be doing so until we return to The Cavendish. Tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned chicken. Unbelievable dish. The asparagus and peas were cooked to perfection. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and lemon posset. Both were amazing and the lemon posset was a perfect palette cleanser after our mains. The staff are lovely, attentive and can't do enough for you. Breakfast is included with your stay. Again, brilliant food.

As a solo female traveler, I'm always wary of going to new places. But I never once felt unsafe, unsure, or nervous staying at the King's Arms. The staff were super friendly, helpful, and kind! I felt very safe in my room, at the pub, and in the town -- even at night! The room was very comfortable and the facilities were very modern for an old-school pub.

The hospitality of the staff was exceptional and the many public rooms, terrace and garden are exceptionally beautiful. The location across from the race course and within a lovely short walk into town, it has a unique and lovely quiet situation. Rooms overlooking the race course have binoculars for viewing the races! The homemade Cartmel flapjacks provided in the rooms are heaven.

The room was lovely and overlooked the historic part of Cartmel. Walking distance to all the fine dining restaurants and several good pubs. The owner Rachel was fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming as well as very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The views, the cosy fire and the location on the edge of the beautiful village of Cartmel are all excellent.

Perfect location in the village and also as a base for other trips we’d planned!! All rooms were a great size and fully equipped kitchen.

breakfast was delicious and the lady running the hotel was very helpful. the beds were fantastically comfortable and the shower was delightful. Small items were perfect from lots of fluffy fresh towels to designated make up removal flannels. Along with the chauffeur service this was the perfect place to stay for our trip to L'Enclume

A lovely, clean and modern cottage that was well equipped with everything we needed for a weekend stay in Cartmel.

Little Wren was an absolute gem of a find, the pictures on Booking.com don't really do it justice. It far exceeded our expectations! It is so cosy and homely, full of character, and every little thing has been thought of including dressing gowns, lovely warm throws and all the kitchen appliances you could need. There is a cupboard with an honesty bar, which to be honest was a nice surprise as I hadn't known prior to our visit. You can have a few drinks and leave money in the box, or buy a nice little bottle of something to replace and pass on for the next guests to enjoy. When we first walked in, it took my breath away. As we were staying over New Years Eve, I knew this would be the perfect place where we could relax, be cosy and enjoy a welcome break. The surroundings are stunning, lots of lovely walks and it's very peaceful. Walking into the village takes around 15 minutes, and you can go by road (which isn't recommended at night as there is no pavement) you can also follow the footpath opposite, through the fields, which is a public walkway and is safer. We did this after a few wines on New Years Eve with a torch and survived!! There is a door from the lounge leading outside where you can let your dog out, but it isn't enclosed and so will need to be on a lead if they don't have the best recall like mine! A little further behind the cottage is a lovely little Orchard where you can let your dog off for a morning run and looks out over the hills. We were lucky with bright sunny days - so this was gorgeous in the mornings. The village of Cartmel is absolutely beautiful. Lovely little independent shops, cafes and the most welcoming traditional pubs and restaurants. It was bustling, in a nice way, not crowded, but a lovely atmosphere, and was the perfect place for us to spend from 29th Dec and over New Years Eve (although we headed back to the cottage at 6pm as we wanted to be cosy there!)
