We had a wonderful stay in Ballater. The hotel was quaint, comfortable, exceptionally clean, and wonderfully quiet — exactly what we were looking for. Having the bar and restaurant conveniently on site made everything so easy, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely outstanding. The owners and staff were incredibly warm, personable, and welcoming throughout our stay. The food and drinks were a definite 10/10. With its convenient location and excellent hospitality, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The history of the place, the building itself and superb location in the forest. Rustic harm of the property and all wooden encrustations and carving are simply amazing. Food was very good at the local restaurant plus a moderate selection of good whiskies . Cozy fireplace was lit during the evening. Great staff!

This was the cleanest I've ever seen a home. The owners we're very friendly and helpful. We arrived late due to a flat tire and they were very accommodating. We definitely recommend.

The property was very clean. Location excellent. The kitchen was well stocked with pans for cooking. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were complimentary. Rooms comfortable and bathrooms clean. Dan, the owner, was interesting and enjoyable to talk with.

Lots of places to eat out.

Lots of places to eat out. The Bothy does a superb breakfast! And excellent ice creams from Shorty's. I like the water station in the square - great idea. Plenty parking space. Loads of rubbish bins and benches and tables to sit at. Great base for walks/cycling.

Ballater is a lovely town. Probably the best in Deeside.

Ballater is a lovely town. Probably the best in Deeside. It’s a great location as a base the explore from with many facilities for the traveller and plenty of restaurants, tea rooms, pubs, etc to choose from. Probably one of the best golf clubs in Scotland too. Fantastic condition with breathtaking views.

Superb base for walking with enough good quality eating...

Superb base for walking with enough good quality eating places for lunches and evening meals. A picturesque wee village ideally suited for a Deeside visit westwards to Braemar and eastwards to Aboyne and Banchory. We'll be staying over again for another trip.

Great central point to explore everything that the Grampians has to offer…walking, fishing, scenic drives, Balmoral and much much more. A good selection of, pubs, restaurants, hotels and other accommodation.

We went to Ballater to be close to Balmoral Castle, where we...

We went to Ballater to be close to Balmoral Castle, where we went to an artisans market on the grounds. We were there in October, so opening of other parts of the castle were not available, due to royal residence use. I would return to this beautiful part of Scotland again if given the chance, to see more of the castle.

Beautiful little town in a stunning location.

Beautiful little town in a stunning location. The town is decorated with the most amazing hanging baskets. Several pubs, all seemed to be busy and offered good value food. The town is ideally located for exploring the beautiful area

The hotel was like a home from home, as we were quite a large group and could meet in the lounge area which had comfy sofas and chairs. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and the staff were very helpful regarding cake etc. Our room was lovely, comfy bed and great shower. There were nice touches ie bathrobes, slippers, crisps, biscuits. Breakfast was delicious with variety of cooked options. Perfect location in centre of Ballater.

I’ve stayed at the Cambus O’ May Hotel many times over the years and it has always been consistently good. The hotel is clean, the staff are genuinely friendly and naturally attentive without ever being intrusive. The continental breakfast offers a great selection with plenty of choice, and the location is perfect for touring Royal Deeside and the surrounding area. I always enjoy staying here and look forward to returning.

The property is perfectly located for local walks and access to the village. The neighbourhood is very quiet at night, perfect for sleeping. We loved that the host had the heating turned on for us as the weather was cold! Would highly recommend a stay here to explore Ballater, Balmoral and Braemar

The Braemar and Ballater area is lovely. We were passing through, so it would be nice to return and explore. The B&B has been newly reurbished, so everyting is clean and fresh. Good breakfast cooked to order. Several places in Ballater for the evenning meal.
