The best part of Bangor is great connectivity of public transport. You can dive into Snowdonia areas via Sherpa buses, you can get direct trains to London, you can easily goto Holyhead for people travelling to Ireland, it is easier to commute from there. Bangor has a beautiful sea view, and is very clean and scenic area.

Parts of the town were very run-down but others were attractive & modern, no doubt supported by students from the university. Wonderful views of Anglesey from the promenade & pier. Very handy for walking the Walkers Coast Path and hillwalking, particularly Tryfan, the Glyders, and the Carneddau range.

The location of The Management Centre is charming, it's a short walk from the Victorian Pier, where the views across Wales and Anglesey are wonderful. We enjoyed excellent beer and fish and chips at the nearby Boatyard Inn and a short drive away is the lovely Penryhn Castle.

Depending what you're visiting for.

Depending what you're visiting for. In the town centre there are no clothes shops or supermarkets- only cafes, mobile phone shops and charity shops. Nightlife has also gone downhill since COVID, most things closed and now like a ghost town. Can't fault the retail parks up the top end of Bangor, got what you need but again no clothes shops. Some lovely walks around Bangor when the weather is nice. Cleo lounge is a lovely place to eat who also accepts dogs. Pontio is also cheap for cinema viewings.

Apart from the university, there is little of note in Bangor. Decent restaurants and pubs are few and far between. Not recommended for an extended vacation ... If you want to visit the area and have a car, stay in Chester.

A small, compact city that's a little run-down and in need of some government cash to bring more people in. We've never been in such a quiet city centre on a Saturday night; plenty of pubs, not enough people! So many Turkish barbers, so few decent restaurants...and no hotels! Plenty of take-out eateries, but that's not what tourists need! Lovely setting, Welsh government: you're missing out on tourism in Bangor, so splash the cash and glam it up...decent restaurants, a couple of hotels and a modern bar or two. The city should be very grateful for the Black Bull, JD Wetherspoon's, the only busy pub in town!

Ty Glyndwr is a nice and clean hotel. I like it . We were welcomed by staff coffee at the bar. In a couple of minutes, she showed us the room . The location is very near to Bangor Train Station, literally a two-minute walk from the station . Highly recommend for short stays in Bangor . Great staff

The hotel was lovely, set outside Bangor in a rural location, the room was amazing, comfey and luxuriously decorated, we had a loverly evening relaxing in a lounge area surrounded by good food, good drinks and excellent staff. I spent half the time there trying to think of a reason to visit again
