Janine is an excellent host, lots of information on things to do and see. Sent email with list of restaurants which was very helpful to book in advance. Helped us book a taxi to get to restaurant. Breakfast was delicious, nothing is too much trouble. Bedroom with 4poster was really comfy. Will definitely be back as the location is perfect for visiting the local area.

So private in a lovely area! Our hot tub had been pre- heated, which was so kind and meant we could get straight in on arrival! The bed was so comfy and we had a peaceful nights sleep. The barn bar and restaurant is a stones throw away and the food/staff are fabulous! We will definitely be back to this hidden gem as soon as possible 😊

It is really about Janine and her attention to detail.

It is really about Janine and her attention to detail. She is a perfectionist so everything has to be excellent, and it was, from the home from home room with so many special touches that I cannot begin to list them all (find out for yourselves!) to her amazing generosity, which was heartfelt and was the icing on the cake. The advice to go down to Strangford to see the dolphins was one of the best travel tips we have ever had. We took the ferry (£5.60 return for 2) across to Portaferry and back and saw the dolphins in both directions as well as the sunset. Thank you, Janine. We will definitely be back and The Dufferin Coach Inn will feature in one of my future novels.

It was a great location.

It was a great location. I enjoyed walking to the harbour and castle. Parking sometimes was a pain but usually could get a place close by. If you use the sofa bed make sure you look under the cushions as there is a pull put frame which isn't obvious but makes for a more comfy night's sleep! Nice decor and good cleanliness. Good size bathroom with bath.

The cottage was clean, well provisioned, cooking was easy,...

The cottage was clean, well provisioned, cooking was easy, goodies were left and host and hostess very very friendly. Its right close to the shore, with birdwatching every day, secluded and quiet. You'll need a car to get out but we found it easy enough and are keen to go back. It was a real get away break.

Killyleagh is a lovely little town built around its castle...

Killyleagh is a lovely little town built around its castle on the shores of Strangford Lough. Walk down the street and everyone you pass will greet you. The Dufferin guest house is a beautiful place to stay and the pub next door serves lovely food and a great pint of guinness..

Killyleagh is a beautiful town on the Ards Peninsula just 40...

Killyleagh is a beautiful town on the Ards Peninsula just 40 mins drive from Belfast. It is home to the oldest continually lived in castle in Northern Ireland , Killyleagh Castle. It is also home to, in my opinion, the friendliest people in Ireland. A great base from which to explore the surrounding coastline and villages. We ate at the Smugglers Arms pub and also the Dufferin Arms where the meals and beers were very good and we chatted with the friendly locals. There is a excellent supermarket in town too.

Lovely village , pretty harbour , everyone very friendly. Great restaurant very near the harbour - The Smugglers Table. Very well stocked shop at the petrol station , couple of takeaway shops & off licence.
