I LOVED EVERYTHING! The room was absolutely perfect for a solo traveler, well appointed and beyond comfortable. The shower was delicious and very spacious. The bed enveloped you like a hug! The view was to die for. There was a charming beach walk right out front that took you past a castle ruins. The owners are lovely and helpful.

It’s a bit out of Edinburgh so if you don’t want to spend lots on a taxi, check out train options to Kinghorn. The bus takes a very long time! The hotel is great - and in such a beautiful location. You couldn’t ask for better staff, especially Susie, the manager. Her level of service, hospitality and warmth is exceptional.

We liked the safety and quiet at night.

We liked the safety and quiet at night. Ten minutes to the train station and close to Aldi Supermarket. Early in the morning, the city was empty and the shops were closed. We had to think about breakfast the night before.

Lovely beach

Lovely beach Good area with easy access to coastal towns and 30 minutes from Edinburgh. Good choice of shops although the main street has seen better days and is rather run down. Some lovely buildings with interesting architecture.

Kirkaldy is a rather run down town and the high street is positively depressing. However, the views out to sea were brilliant particularly early in the morning. It is conveniently located for Edinburgh and Fife. The train service to Edinburgh is excellent.

Kirkcaldy has huge potential.

Kirkcaldy has huge potential. Some townsfolk's are trying to make it work, but others who have bigger influence at local authority level, seem to just sit on their hands and put the money into other projects. Reducing rates or having a rates amnesty for six months to a year to entice in some name shops, supermarkets and new businesswould rejuvenate that High Street. People like going out and are crying out for this to happen. You have a beautiful prom there. Try and spend some money on making the High Street more appealing to visitors. Not everyone likes or can go to the soulless retail parks. In Spanish towns and cities, main streets are full of shops because of low rates.

Unfortunately Kirkcaldy is like many UK towns in that the main shopping street is a bit dilapidated with many empty shops. The town as a whole has many attractions from museums to recreational facilities and is still well worth a visit. It is also a good area to stay in as central for a Fife visit.

I was born in Kirkcaldy but my family moved away when I was fairly young. My reason for visiting was tinged with sadness as I was attending the funeral of an old friend; but It was lovely to go back and see how my birthplace is faring.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Victoria Hotel. The bedrooms and the public rooms were all spotlessly clean and well-appointed. Housekeeping was exemplary. Generous tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and varied. The staff were friendly and helpful. In fact, we found everyone in Kirkcaldy delightfully friendly. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.

Great property! The flat is very cosy and cute, had all the necessary equipment. The hosts were very kind, checking in and responding quickly to queries. Close to bus and train stops, not a long journey from Edinburgh Airport. Especially nxie to be so close to the promenade for walks. Would definitely stay here again if I'm back in Kirkcaldy! 😊
