Excellent clean and well presented rooms, Evening meals and breakfast was also fantastic. We got our room for £45.00 per night with no meals which was outstanding value considering. highly recommended even at double the price.

The Abbey is well known and an excellent place to visit it...

The Abbey is well known and an excellent place to visit it appears to have had the masonary cleaned and now looks even more impressive. We had an evening meal at La Palma a very good mediteranean restauant in Gowthorpe. The hotel is quite easy to get to by car and has a very large carpark.

I went to see the Abbey. It was worth the visit.

I went to see the Abbey. It was worth the visit. However there's not much else of interest in the town (not many old buildings). I only went for one day - and that was enough. I did find a really good cafe.

Selby is a very quiet town, the high street had few if any...

Selby is a very quiet town, the high street had few if any empty shops. The Abbey is always an impressive sight. Access roads to Selby have been improved over the years and leisure amenities have been added to.

To be fair Storm Amy had began and the amount of road works...

To be fair Storm Amy had began and the amount of road works between Wistow and Drax was an unexpected hindrance. Although Selby Abbey brought back memories of a wedding we attended some years back. Overall it appears to be a nice and safe looking place to reside in.

Selby is a very pleasant place with some nice bars, good...

Selby is a very pleasant place with some nice bars, good pubs and a cathedral that holds some fun events. The Jinnah restaurant was a good shout for a pre-event meal and The Doghouse Craft Beer bar was an excellent choice for a late drink.

The Abbey is certainly worth seeing.

The Abbey is certainly worth seeing. The history is great and the fact that it's still being used is tremendous The town is easy to get around parking not too difficult and has a good selection of shops 👌

Great location in Selby. Chose it as less expensive than York hotels and was close to the bus station, where buses to York are frequent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar food was decent, breakfast was hot and choice of fruit and cereal if wanted it. Parking is free once registered at hotel, Beds are fine and everything is clean.

The location is perfect for us we have family near boy and it’s out of the city but close enough to commute breakfast was a bit dry this time but it’s always been nice before and the lunch we had yesterday was lovely we use this hotel 3 or 4 times a year it’s lovely
