What a gem ! Beautiful cottage lots of surprises. Pictures don’t do it any justice. We arrived and were greeted , very friendly and gave us all Info needed. Lovely basket of bread butter tea coffee and jams plus milk in the fridge which was a lovely touch ! Was surprised by the entrance to the private firepit, it was everything we needed for a group of friends to spend time together! Was perfect ! Beds were comfy . And everything was soo clean ! We loved it 🥰 Definitely be coming again may bring the kids next time 🤣 🥳🥳 Thankyou soo much xx

Lovely location, good long sandy beach, stunning views.

Lovely location, good long sandy beach, stunning views. Not too busy. Lovely mountain heritage steam railway/ stunning mainline railway coastal views. Nice town with a few useful shops & places to eat. Good pub with upstairs restaurant with sea views right on sea front. No parking problems. Friendly people. Overall a lovely place to visit. We have been to Tywyn 3 times now but definitely will return again.

It's a fairly quiet relaxed seaside town with an interesting steam railway, mainline railway (with trains to Birmingham and Pwhelli), also on a bus route to Dolgellau. Beautiful scenery of mountains and sea. There are a few nice places to eat (Salt Marsh seafood restaurant is our favourite). It's good for couples who want to walk the hills and see waterfalls. Cader Idris is not far (quick car ride) although we prefer to leave the car behind. It's easy to visit other towns nearby Machynlleth, Barmouth, Porthmadog are easy to visit by train. Aberdovey is a lovely 4 mile walk along the beach when the tide is out. Holgates Ice Cream parlour serves very tasty ice cream.

The high street is a bit run down (where isn't?)

The high street is a bit run down (where isn't?) but the beach is nice and the Talyllyn Railway is great. If you fancy an Indian meal, take your own beer as neither of them are licensed. The meal I had was good, though.

Well, as I really only come for the Talyllyn Railway, most years, I don't feel very well qualified to talk about the town! I'm a regular at Dine India when I come - the manager used to work in one of our Gloucester Indian Restaurants!

The area is very quiet, the beach is sandy and there's a small amusement arcade on the front. The town has lots of restaurants as well as some shops. There's a train station and busses pass through. Most things within Tywyn are within walking distance.

I come to Tywyn in order to visit the the Talyllyn Railway,...

I come to Tywyn in order to visit the the Talyllyn Railway, of which I am a member. The railway is the first preserved railway in the world, run by enthusiasts since 1951. The railway still has its original locomotives and coaches in working order and dating from the 1860s. Tywyn is a charming little town with good facilities, some excellent restaurants and a good beach. The Fathew valley is worth visiting as are Cder Idris, the Dolgoch Falls, and Talyllyn lake. Beautiful Aberdyfi is a short drive away.
