It was amazing! It was right by the beach, and there was a wonderful walk to see the lighthouse and the seal colony. The place was modern, clean, and fancy, and it felt really comfortable to stay in. Everything was well set up and relaxing, which made the trip even better. The people who owned it were super nice and easy to communicate with, and they made us feel very welcome. I would definitely stay there again.

Our stay at the Bay Beach Front was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the modern and impeccably clean rooms adorned with every amenity one could desire, including a fully-equipped kitchen that allowed us to indulge in some delightful culinary adventures. We even were able to grill on the main deck, which was super relaxing. Westport is close by, so we were able to grab a few groceries from there. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure that every moment felt like home, adding a personal touch that made all the difference. Their genuine care and attention made our experience truly remarkable. The breakfast was absolutely divine! Each morning, we were treated to a delightful spread that fueled us for a day of exploration and relaxation. There’s plenty of beautiful hikes and walks all right near the hotel, plus all down the shoreline. While the surrounding area offers plenty of activities and adventures, the breathtaking views of the beach were so mesmerizing, perfect for sipping some wine and relaxing. Overall, our stay at was nothing short of perfection. If you're looking for a blissful escape with unforgettable views and unparalleled hospitality, look no further. We would definitely say again, highly highly recommend.

The staff was terrific, incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The pub next to the hotel was an excellent place for dinner, and there was live music on Friday night! The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the shower has hot water and adequate water pressure. This is also a great location, right in the middle of town with easy access to restaurants, shops, and the beach.

Beautifully decorated room, very well equipped and very comfortable. Great location on a short drive from the seal sanctuary and a short walk from a great bar/restaurant and the beach. We ate a lovely meal, then watched the sunset and saw dolphins from the beach. A great stay, wished we were there longer and the host is lovely, friendly and helpful, Jack the dog is also a star.

Great place to explore, enjoyed the very short walk from our accommodation up to the lighthouse - views to die for. Great to see the seal colony playing in the water at Tauranga Bay - easy walk on a great maintained & easy track to the platform to see them. There are good walking and cycling tracks around the area and fantastic beaches. We enjoyed our meal and hospitality at the Star Tavern - just a 10 minute walk from our stay. It's only a short drive from Westport.

The location is excellent especially if you enjoy cycling ,...

The location is excellent especially if you enjoy cycling , the track to Charleston is very user friendly and is suitable for all riders , the track goes through lots of beautiful bush that is home to many birds. Bikers and walkers can also travel back to Westport and return, there are many information boards along the way describing the early settlers and the local wildlife. I highly recommend this coastal track for everyone.

We absolutely loved our time here.

We absolutely loved our time here. Everything was right on our doorstep, stunning walks, mountain biking trails, and even a great local spot for dinner at the Star Tavern just down the road. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the setting, tucked into the hillside near the Lighthouse walking track and Kawatiri Cycle Track, was just beautiful. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

It is great for Cycling now as the Kawhiti Trail is complete. The accommodation is at the mid point on the trail. This location is perfect for a weekend as you can ride in one direction one day and ride in the other direction the other day.

This is a beautiful place with some lovely walks and stunning scenery and beaches. Lovely place to just unwind and relax. We stayed in the hole in the rock Yurt which we loved, just gave the trip a unique spin. There is a pub less than 5 mins walk were we had a meal. The meal was nice, just basic pub food. But was ideal so we could have a drink and juts walk back to the yurt. A visit to the west coast pie company is a must, the pies are fantastic including vegetarian options which were very yummy. We did the walk to the lighthouse and then separately went to see the seals and also down to the hole in the rock. We didn't have a lot of time so would like to do some longer walks next time. Beautiful place well worth the visit would be wild in the winter. Which personally I love.

We loved everything about this place.

We loved everything about this place. A very secluded and relaxing space with EVERYTHING that we needed. We would love to stay longer next time. A special piece of paradise near Westport. Thanks Kevin & Trish!
