Visiting Kew gardens was my highlight, you can easily spend a day there and it is a good break from the city.I would recommend a cruise from Westminster to Greenwich,it gives you great views of central London and is very relaxing, the Maritime museum has plenty of interest and the cafe is good. The Goddards pie and mash was superb and excellent value.I also visited the Chelsea Physic garden,it has a great range of plants and explanations of use in medicine, there are guided tours and a good cafe.

In total we stayed in London for 11 nights, the first visit...

In total we stayed in London for 11 nights, the first visit for 5 nights in the Covent garden area. We then headed over to France and Italy before returning for 3 nights in the London city area and then 3 nights in West Kensington. This enabled us to see and do most of what London has to offer. London is an incredibly easy city to get around, the public transport system is brilliant. We broke our sight seeing activities down into the general area we were staying to avoid too much walking/train travel/time wasting. We ate everywhere. It can be hard to find good food at a good price and there are lots of places with great reviews and social media hype which do not deserve it! However we did eat at the new Gordon Ramsey Bread St 22 Bishopsgate and it was great, we weren't expecting to like it as much as we did. In our opinion London is underrated, there is so much to see and do. Markets, graffiti, boating from Paddington basin, Cockney sing-a-long, Thames river cruise. Do your research and get stuck in!

London is such a cool and vibrant city with endless opportunities for exploring. Every visit always feels too short. We saw the show Matilda and it was spectacular. The science and natural history museums were fun and engaging with a young child. The British museum was wonderful. It was lovely to visit buckingham palace as it’s only open in the summer months. The only challenge is that you lose a lot of money with converting Canadian currency to pounds which makes for a very expensive trip.

I must admit, I have a bit of a bias since I was born and raised in South East London. Now that I am living in Kent, I always enjoy a visit to the capital. The architecture still amazes me. Our historic buildings definitely stand their ground against other European cities. It is a place where you can always discover something new each time you visit. It is lovely to see the sights, but there is so much happening in London that it is hard to see it all. The theatre shows are fantastic, as is a walk along the South Bank from Westminster, where you can see all the stalls and restaurants, The Tate Modern Art Gallery and the Globe Theatre. Taking a river boat to Greenwich is also worth a visit to the maritime museums and the Observatory at the top of the Park.

London has a great vibe. The atmosphere is quite different from other capitals I've visited. And if you don't go in, you can see all the touristic highlights in a day. Which leaves nice time to spot some lesser known parts.

Yuk. Dirty, expensive & too many people.

Yuk. Dirty, expensive & too many people. What is it in this day & age with one of the so called leading countries in the world, do people from London just put their garbage in a plastic bag & throw it out onto the footpaths? The bags break & leave a mess, cats get into them & leave a mess or the garbage collectors end up breaking them on pick up & it leaves a mess. Do they not remember the plague?? There are not many garbage bins in the streets to utilise & for tourists, this can be an issue. People ride bikes way too fast & the road rules do not allow for right of way by pedestrians by cars or bikes - it feels a little crazy!

What we liked the most about the property was its location, very close to the Paddington underground, to Kensington gardens and a few minutes on foot from Notting Hill. There are lots of restaurants, fast foods and markets nearby and the neighborhood is really calm and safe. Another positive aspect is the price, convenient and not high at all compared to other London hotels/apartments. The heating and the wifi also worked really well, and the staff was kind to help.

Much cheaper than the extortionate central London hotels. Quite funny, as it's a shoebox-sized bedsit-flat inside a grand building. It's clearly self-catering: Nobody seems to want to use that phrase anymore. A nice view, not that I care. The fan in the main room light was a nice touch. It wasn't obvious how to operate it, until I noticed its remote control.
