The open-plan living space includes an electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, woodburning stove, dining seating and a TV. There is a double mezzanine bedroom serviced by a shower room. There is also a pull-out bed. To the outside is a patio with table and chairs and designated parking for one car. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Smoking is not allowed. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the price. Within 0.3 miles there is a shop and pub. The Hay Barn is a superb retreat for two.

The Derbyshire Peak District includes the little town of New Mills, which is located on the boundary between North West Derbyshire and Cheshire. Since the 13th century, the Torrs Riverside Park (also known as "the park under the town") has served as a location for recreation and relaxation. In the late 20th century, the New Mills Heritage Centre was established to promote tourism in the region.
