Places to Stay in Matsumoto

Location is excellent, you can walk from and to the train station in 10 minutes. Another big plus is that the hotel has a laundry room on 2 floors, and you can use the tv in your room to check the status of each washing machine. That includes when you have put your laundry in, the tv in your room will show the remaining time of your wash. Very practical, I wish all hotels had this. The bed is firm and comfortable. I had a room on a high floor with an excellent view of the city and the mountains on the horizon. And the room is very clean! The reception is on the second floor, so once you are checked in you don't have to deal with them again until check-out. You can just take the elevator from the ground floor to your room and vice versa without passing reception. I didn't take the breakfast option so I can't comment on that, but from what I say it's basically a Gusto establishment, which I do have some experience with, and it's as good as what you can expect for breakfast in Japan.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at - from the hospitable welcome, the myriad of amenities (free welcome hot bev, udon noodles post-onsen, incredible rooftop onsen with great views, free ice cream and Yakult post-bath), cute and clean rooms, the ease of doing laundry within the women's locker change rooms etc. The buffet breakfast was super delicious and we just really enjoyed our time and experience here we wanted to stay in the whole time. HIGHLY recommend staying here if you're in Matsumoto.

Staff were very hospitable. Their service was beyond my expectations. We stayed for 2 nights only. Hotel is 5 to 7 minute walk from Matsumoto Station. Instructions given by the concierge were very clear. We added breakfast for 2 days and our parents were very happy. On our last night, we just bought some bento meals from Family Mart and consumed the foods at the hotel. The staff allowed us to eat at the breakfast venue so that it would be easier for us to get free cups of water and coffee. The onsen experience was also outstanding. It was our parents' first time to experience natural hot spring in Japan. Last but the best thing that I want to commend is when we lost our son's pair of rubbershoes and the staff was able to find it in the hotel. They volunteered to send it to our friend's location in Tokyo free of charge. We are really grateful for their excellent service.

Amazing room and value for money - well located ; short walk to the castle. The staff were friendly and they provided evening supper of Ramen which was excellent .

I was surprised on the facilities here: onsen, reading area (manga cafe), bike rental The onsen was a lifesaver on my hike days There is daily housekeeping and the staff are so nice

Very wonderful place and people! When we got there, realized that we had left a bag on the bus to Norikura-Kogen. After talking to the staff at Komakusa Hotel, they painstakingly went through a lot of trouble (even going all the way to Matsumoto!) to get the bag back for us. Truly appreciate the effort and help :D The food was also amazing, and it was a good distance from all the major attractions. The hotel itself is amazing, so clean and neat, with comfortable beds. The onsen was sulfur-based so a new and wonderful experience. Would highly recommend this place, 素晴らしかったです!

Location is great! Right next to the station. Staff was helpful and helped arrange luggage delivery to next stop. Breakfast was good with lots of options.

Great location, very close to Mastumoto Castle. Lots of restaurants and bars closeby. Very comfortable stay. Really liked the rustic feel of the place.

The rooms were very comfortable. the price of the rooms was very reasonable for the location. It was within a 2-minute walk of the castle and 5 minute walk to the main shopping streets. The wasabi farm is only 25 minutes away. It was perfect!

The hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast, served Japanese-style, was very tasty. Great experience overall. The room was clean with huge, comfortable beds — just great. I slept really well.

It was very cozy and full of little nice details, it felt like arriving at a friend's house. I really liked that the owner put a lot of effort into his house. There is a lot of respect for local traditions, and you can appreciate it here.

Highly recommend this beautiful house! We stayed for 2 nights and it exceeded our expectations. The layout is great with a bedroom upstairs and space for a comfortable futon downstairs. A huge bonus for anyone driving is the convenient parking space right at the property. The neighborhood is incredibly peaceful, yet you can easily walk to local restaurants. On top of that, the host responds lightning-fast. It's the perfect place to stay!
