AustraliaThis was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at - from the hospitable welcome, the myriad of amenities (free welcome hot bev, udon noodles post-onsen, incredible rooftop onsen with great views, free ice cream and Yakult post-bath), cute and clean rooms, the ease of doing laundry within the women's locker change rooms etc. The buffet breakfast was super delicious and we just really enjoyed our time and experience here we wanted to stay in the whole time. HIGHLY recommend staying here if you're in Matsumoto.

Family friendly, exceptional staff and huge place that easily fits 10 adults if you make use of 2 beds, sofa bed and tatami mat/room. Whole family loved the place.

United StatesEverything. This is a new hotel, and considering they have only been open for one month, they excelled in every possible way. The rooms are wonderfully spacious, with kitchenettes and even a washing machine. The hotel also has a free shuttle service to pick you up from the station, and get you to the slopes. For skiing, the hotel is perfect. The ski rental, Spicy Rentals, is next door, and the hotel has lockers to keep your equipment. But, perhaps, best of all, there is the restaurant. Incredible French style cooking with Japanese elements. The chef is very creative, and the Maitre D, Mr. Yoshida, was gracious and extremely professional. Their tasting menu is 7 to 8 courses, perfectly cooked and so creatively presented! My wife and I love this hotel!

AustraliaTony the manager is a credit to the organisation. He went above and beyond helping everyone with booking food, busses and info on the slopes. All of the other staff were incredible and really made the trip special.
Beyond this the location is phenomenal right in the middle of town close to food and the slopes. Opposite the accomadation is the free bus shuttle to the other slopes!

A nicely maintained house in a quiet local community. Love the spacious kitchen with so many cute tableware. There is even a Yamaha Piano well in tune. There are two bedrooms so maybe 3-4 person could enjoy the facility more.
The host is nice, punctual and informative. He speaks good English and helped us back to the train station with his car. Hope I can speak more Japanese with him next time.

Helpful staff, our room has been upgraded to a big family suite which is very comfortable and spacious. All the facilities are very new. Close to the bus station to Ogizawa station.

I realize it's stated clearly here, but I was not prepared for how large this space actually is! It is a former hostel which could easily house 10-15 people across multiple bedrooms and you get to rent the whole thing! It has an unheard-of amount of space for lodging in Japan, and it also happens to be within view of Matsumoto Castle and within easy walking distance to the main draws of Matsumoto city. Definitely don't pass on this option if you are traveling with a large family. We were sad to check out.

A lovely hostel that has very spacious rooms for the two bed rooms. The communal spaces were very clean and the host had many different recommendations for the area and city of Matsumoto. We really enjoyed our stay here!

All facilities are clean and tidy. The labels as instructions are clear and lovely with hand drawn cute cats! The apartment is very spacious with a living room and bedroom. There are also enough utilities eg garbage bags, utensils etc. The location is also convenient that it is between the JR station and the castle. The host is also very friendly with prompt reply! They let us store our luggage after check out, very nice!

Nice common area, lots of maps and recommendations provided by the knowledgable owner. Bunk bed room was also spacious enough for individual luggages, which I really appreciate! Futon super comfortable too.

My room was spacious.
The free locker to keep the luggage at the entrance was convenient so that I could pick it up later.
The books related to Nagano on the lounge are a great idea. I could notice the staff and bring the books into my room for reading.

Comfortable stay in a traditional Japanese guest house. Room was quite spacious (quadruple room for 2 of us) with a low table and chairs without legs. The lady at reception was very pleasant and efficient. Shared bathroom facilities were very good. Excellent location just a short walk from the bus stop for the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Great view of the mountains from the roof terrace. Would recommend.

What a warm welcome and so many little touches that made the stay very easy. The tents were large and spacious and beautifully furnished. We were kindly upgraded and offered free showers. The staff couldn't have been kinder.

We loved everything here. The European outlook of the building and the elegant setting inside the hotel, in particular the lounge area. Our room was huge, with large beds, spacious sitting and bath areas. Everything inside the room was clean and the setting was warm. The location of the hotel is good enough for us, only a 5-minute walk to the shops and eateries at kyu-karuizawa and 20-minute walk to the outlet at the train station.

The house is small but very cute with all amenities available. Only one shower for men and one for women but since there are not many rooms, it wasn’t a problem. Several toilets. Cute little terrace in our room as well. The host was very nice and accommodating. Free parking.
