Excellent stay and made to feel very welcome

Everything about our visit was good to very good, food accommodation and staff. The prices were reasonable Beer at well under £5 per pint and a very friendly atmosphere to drink it in. The food was "Rustic" but reasonable priced and well served. The popularity of the Inn was testament to the quality.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here! The bedroom was very nice, cosy, clean, with good amenities. The owners were very nice, and the breakfast was delicious!

Claudia is a fantastic hostess. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was a bother. Claudia made us a packed breakfast so we could attend an early event the next day. Above and beyond and such a charming personality. Lovely roll top bath. The dog was made to feel very welcome too. Highly recommend staying here. Pub opened the night before we arrived and was a good place to eat. Fabulous stay.

From the beginning to the end was absolutely wonderful. We received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to a wonderful room with garden views. The room was huge and so was the bed. I loved the file which had recommendations on things to do, restaurants along with the history of the farm dating back to 1600. We had delicious shortbread which we could refill on daily. The location was great, we walked to the deer park and to Fountains Abbey. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and all locally sourced. I had a full English and the pancakes on another day. The lemon curd which they make is to die for. We bought a jar and I've almost finished it. There is a field which has tulips in and we picked a beautiful bunch before leaving. Maggie said they also grow wild flowers in the summer for people to pick. Maggie and team re absolutely fantastic and make you feel so welcome. We will definitely be returning.

Libs, the host, was very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is an old, characterful house in a very quiet village, very tranquil. The room assigned to me was well appointed, had everything I needed (and more) with comfortable twin beds. The (private) bathroom was across the landing but dressing gowns were provided so this wasn't an issue. Libs did offer me an upgraded en-suite room but what I was initially shown was very sufficient for a short two-night stay. Breakfast at a pre-booked time was plentiful and delicious, with quality ingredients. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would definitely return if I was in the area.

Great communication from staff, wonderful pub/restaurant, and a well-appointed and spacious room!

Staff was super friendly and breakfast was great. Bathroom was super clean and beds were comfy. Great place to drink with the locals and they made us feel right at home. Would totally recommend.
