B&Bs in Hakuba

If we ever come back to Hakuba we will stay here. The location was perfect for us because it was away from the madness of town. We ended up using the daily shuttle provided to Tsugaike and it worked perfectly. There isn't much for food in that area but we would grab food, snacks, and beer from the konbini in Tsugaike. If you want to get to Hakuba it was just a short walk to the road to catch the shuttle. Alan and his staff are so cool, helpful and fun. We brought our boards but I would have been happy using what he rents next time. Amigo rents good boards.

the property itself was extremely cozy, with a wood-fueled fire going in the game room and extremely comfy beds. there were heating units spread throughout the house, so I never felt cold. the shower in the basement was also absolutely fantastic! I love the onsen-style showers in general, and having one in the property was a genius touch. and I can’t say enough about the owners. I was picked up from the bus station, driven every morning to the mountains, and picked up each afternoon at an agreed-upon time, then driven into town each night to find a restaurant for dinner, then dropped off at the bus station for my journey home. it was absolutely exceptional. the hosts go above and beyond in every way. I would absolutely stay here anytime I come to visit Hakuba. nothing short of exceptional.

Very kind owners, and great facilities if you have a dog. There is a beautiful outdoor dog run, the owners have dog supplies (pet circle and pet sheets) on hand, and they love having dogs stay. They will even take your dog for a walk while you go snowboarding! I stayed over new years with my two dogs, and it was so fun being around so many people with their dogs; our New Year's Eve party had as many dogs as people! However, if you don't like dogs it won't be a problem, because there are several rules in place to make sure everyone is happy. If you like to travel with your pets and see them enjoy their vacation, I recommend you stay here. The location is quiet and beautiful, but still only a few minutes drive to the station and ski areas. There are several good restaurants in walking distance. The free shuttle buses also all have stops right near the property. The owners were also kind enough to drive me in their car on several occasions, for a very reasonable price. It is a family run property with the real Japanese style and many Japanese guests. It is great to support a local family and local vibes instead of Western owned properties dominated by Western tourists. The communal bathroom areas are kept clean and allow for privacy. Because it is a small hotel, it doesn't really feel like you are sharing the bathroom at all. The rooms have proper wall heaters and there is a lovely wood stove in the communal kitchen area. The mattresses could have been better, but I still slept well surrounded by the peaceful forest. I will definitely be coming back and will stay for longer next time :)

We had a wonderful stay at Pension Kobekke with our 9-month old baby. We had read in other reviews that the owners would pick us up from the bus stop, but it was a bonus to learn that there were also multiple shuttles available throughout the day to take us to and from the local ski resort, as well as a shuttle service for dinner time. The rooms are much more spacious than anywhere else we’ve encountered in Japan, and the family that runs Pension Kobekke is so friendly and accommodating. Our baby had the best time in the kids area and we enjoyed the private bath facilities, which were kept clean. We ate dinner at the accommodation one night and the food was delicious and plentiful. There is also a communal lounge area with space to relax in massage chairs, which is great after a day of skiing! The local resort (Tsugaike) is perfect for beginners/intermediate and we hope to return again in the near future.

The staff were very nice. We did not know the accommodation offers a free breakfast in the morning. It was a great surprise!

Our host was wonderful! She took time to show us all the amenities, allowed us to store luggage while we skied, messaged us with bus stops and information to get anywhere in Hakuba, and she works round the clock to keep the place spotless clean, hot water in the kitchen, our gear drying, and making sure everyone has what they need. The bed was big and comfy, the whole place was very clean, conveniently near bus stops, in-room heater worked great, windows open for fresh air, plenty of places to plug into power, excellent kitchen with spacious dining and lounge area.

Hospitality was off the charts, waited for us to come beyond bed time. Helped us out in need when our car got stuck.

The hospitality of the owners and the well maintained hostel. All four mornings of my stay, the owners went their way to ask about where I’ll be visiting and gave me local information including 20-30% discounts on ski resort passes. The facility had a garden theme while keeping warmth and cleanness in Hakuba winter -10/10

Nori’s share house absolutely stole my heart. Wonderful facilities, perfect location where I could view the mountains outside my window and a bike was provided to explore around town (my best experience in Japan to date) the host was a very kind man and Hakuba was the perfect escape from the hustle of Tokyo. I very much look forward to coming back

All the staff especially the chef were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, especially the fresh made bread and jam. Beds were comfortable. The lounge area had games and cards which we enjoyed playing. The shuttle to the ski area was very easy to catch. Overall we were thrilled with our stay.

great accommodation, i shared a bedroom with a friend for 5 nights, Onsen is a must to use if you stay here, great location with ease of access to buses to ski resort, ben had great advise on all things dinner, equipment hire and ski resort recommendations for all levels.
