The village is tiny, but we were able to walk over to Coldstream in Scotland for a visit to a pub. It was a bank holiday weekend, so many shops, museums, etc. were closed. Nevertheless, the Collingwood Arms is a lovely place to relax and enjoy excellent service and fine cuisine.

Beautiful surroundings and ideal for a couple with a dog. Great walks nearby and very peaceful. We went to Kelso races which was only 20 minutes by car.

Lovely room, comfortable beds, super breakfast. Staff, although a small team were excellent. Helpful and very friendly. The room's fridge was a great asset. Nice bar. We didn't eat an evening meal as we were still full from the breakfast, but the people who used the restaurant all said that the food was excellent. We shall return to quote General McArthur.

All 4 of us absolutely loved the 2 rooms that are there. The scenery is beautiful and the tiny town is pleasant and close to so many attractions. It would be great to have a longer stay there in the future. The yard is nice and it was very relaxing just sitting and enjoying the greenery and the sounds of the birds. Both the breakfast and the staff at the attached restaurant are so very excellent that I can't even tell you how much we appreciated the food and their kindness. Again, we would love to stay there again in the future.

Ford is a beautiful old village and is worth exploring,...

Ford is a beautiful old village and is worth exploring, everyone is friendly and happy to chat with you. There is only one shop/ post office which shuts around 4pm so don’t expect anything to happen after that time. There are no restaurants but there is a lovely thatched pub in the village of Etal a few minutes drive along the road.

Both Ford and Etal are pretty villages.

Both Ford and Etal are pretty villages. Well worth a visit is Lady Waterford Hall in Ford, Etal castle, the Heatherslaw light railway, Hay Heavy horse centre and the corn mill. The Ford and Etal circular walk around Ford Moss nature reserve is lovely. The Lavender tea rooms and Black Bull pub do good food. Further afield it is only about 40 minutes drive to Seahouses and 30 minutes to Bamburgh castle.

Set in the idyllic village of Ford, this B&B is clean, welcoming, and full of charm. Our host was lovely and incredibly helpful — nothing was ever too much trouble. The room was well equipped, spotless, and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic: freshly cooked, generous, and delicious. It’s easy to reach and easy to park, but be aware that Google Maps isn’t completely accurate. The B&B is at door number 6, clearly marked with a sign — something I would have noticed sooner if I hadn’t been blindly following Google, I’ll admit! For the price, it offered excellent value. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here.

Rachel is a great host , a warm reception on arrival , lovely room with good views across to the Cheviot hills , if you like peace and quiet this is the place to stay . exceptional breakfast with local produce , a nice relaxing couple of nights .

An immaculately kept estate village in a beautiful,...

An immaculately kept estate village in a beautiful, interesting area. Easy access to the glorious Northumberland coast and hills. The Ford and Etal estates have a number of good visitor locations, both historical and scenic. Good as a destination or as a stopping point for a couple of days.

We loved Ford and the neighbouring villages on the estate...

We loved Ford and the neighbouring villages on the estate for their beauty and tranquillity. If there is a downside it is that there is no where to eat/drink in Ford after 4pm and visitors have to travel a few (and only a few) miles to local pubs for an evening meal.
