The location was absolutely picturesque, with the cottage overlooking the harbour. It was surrounded by fruit and olive trees of every kind. The yard was well-kept and attractive. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. Kenny and Liz were the consummate hosts. Kenny spent 45 minutes satisfying our curiosity by showing us the fruit and olive trees, answering our questions, etc. Our stay away idyllic.

Recently renovated, exceptionally clean, and warm with modern facilities. The bed and fresh linen were so comfortable, that I melted into it. Had the best sleep ever! Ample parking and lovely to wake up to bird song. The owners were super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend to others. .

We did not have breakie cause we left earlier. The staff were very friendly, We loved it, the only thing are the few cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom.

Quiet but busy for this town due to the events, would like a few more vegan options besides falafel, tofy or vegetables. A bit more flavored spices, herbs and a blended ingredient to form a nice plantbased no meat style would be great.

Despite recent news coverage Ōpōtiki is an idyllic location.

Despite recent news coverage Ōpōtiki is an idyllic location. It has most amenities, the locals are great. Small town shopping as expected but is the gateway to the East Coast with scenery to die for, fishing and swimming or just time out at the beach along this coastal stretch.

Opotiki is a very quiet and sleepy town.

Opotiki is a very quiet and sleepy town. There are just a few restaurants. They closed early. There is however a good supermarket not too far, I think it’s called Nat’s. Good to get your supplies for meals. We didn’t stay long but didn’t see much to do. But please refer to the official guides as I’m sure you might find something that we missed. We are an elderly couple, so we do not look for extreme sports or vigorous hikes.

Kaipai Takeaway Shop in town was very yummy an best burger ive tasted for a while also liked the Pavlova which i brought 2 of as they were homemade an they were lovely, Chemist was friendly an helpful place so was the Maori shop kool friendly helpful lady an 2nd hand clothing shop the lady in there she was out of this world you could yak as if you were bestmates from wayback

I got to meet the locals and had an insight into their world. They were friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful and the weather was so lovely it made work a pleasure. I enjoyed the best most fluffiest pancakes at the Hot Bread Cafe. I highly recommend. Taking my dog to each beach along my travels ment he really got a good workout. Walking off the delicious lunch with a colleague/friend along one of the many beaches was invigorating.

Museum was one of the best in New Zealand.

Museum was one of the best in New Zealand. We spent over 2. 5 hours there. Wonderful exhibits donated by local woman who left half a million dollars to the museum. Very interesting, photos and write ups. World class museum, a must see. It is very well run and looked after. Worth a visit to Opotiki just to visit this. The Anglican church in the centre was beautiful too, and some interesting but sad history to read on a board outside. Great restaurant The Royal, wonderful cafe opposite Subway. Great walks and beautiful beaches especially Bryan's Beach. Well positioned not far from Whakatane. Great place to visit.

Across the road from a beautiful, low traffic, Bay of Plenty beach with fantastic views! Upper level apartment is clean & comfortable with a big balcony and view of bay & well kept grounds. It's integration with a lush hillside rainforest is like an upscale, luxurious tree house! Host is very welcoming, helpful when needed, and has paid attention to details that make a positive impression! Easy drive to friendly town of Opotiki where groceries, good restaurants & auto service are readily available!

The host was very friendly and chatty, sharing a wealth of knowledge, particularly about avocados. Nestled in amongst kiwifruit orchards this property has beautiful views of the ocean. It was all we needed. We had our own BBQ to use and close enough to Opotiki for supplies.

The hotel is well located, it is quite and calm. they have a community kitchen with the basics to cook. no oil :" I really like the receptionist service she was nice and kind. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was clean and the bed were comfortable.
