The owner/hostess is kind, warm, attentive and generous. Chef/ Caretaker/ Manager Frank is exceedingly warm and generous. He makes an excellent breakfast. The availability of fruit bowl 24/7. The place felt like a home as I was working from my room. Bless them. May they be blessed abundantly.

My 3 week stay at The Cottage was absolute bliss. The peace, quiet and complete privacy made my stay so much more enjoyable. The hostess Marche' was amazing from the time I booked in until the day I checked out. The unit is everything as shown in the pictures except the cozy factor will surprise you. Neat, tidy and everything you will need is readily available. The unit is kept clean with housekeeping provided so need to stress over that. I had such a wonderful stay and will recommend The Cottage to anyone looking for peace, tranquility during their stay.

Absolutely lovely, well equipped, clean and a very convenient location.

We arrived at the place and nothing was in place. The place wasnt clean at all and the bedding was not fresh. No wifi for our entire stay and I had a project to finish off. We were told we could not make use of the washing machine but it was listed as an amenity. There were no towels at the property and when I called the host, I was told it is “self catering”??? I specifically told them we have guests coming from Gauteng. The pool was very dirty. No toilet paper in the main bathroom. No cleaning materials at all. The host when we arrived had some people with her at the property. Not sure who it was 😕. We were also told to buy our own firewood but the yard was filled with firewood. No one showed us how to use the fireplace and it was a struggle. No safe at the property. No extra blankets . No heater

It's difficult to put into words the amazing time we had at Plotsklaps. The beautiful property is in a perfect location in the Tokai neighborhood of Cape Town, equidistant between downtown and all the attractions around False Bay and Cape Point. It sits beneath a picturesque mountain near many great dining and shopping places as well as the Constantia vineyards and Kirstenbosch botanical garden. Guests stay in a two-story guest cottage next to Dave and Rachael's house, both of which are architectural wonders with their high thatched rooves supported by exposed log beams. Our two kids (aged 9 and 11) slept soundly in the bunkbeds in the downstairs room, with their own bathroom. The master bed upstairs was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. There's a full kitchen (with washer and dryer), dining room, office area, and living room with hundreds of TV channels and DVDs of classic movies. We really appreciated the welcome items of coffee, home-grown eggs, bread, milk, and delicious jams and rusks that Rachael makes herself. It was particularly nice to be able to wash our clothes after a week on safari. The property has a spacious pool and poolside pavilion with a barbecue pit and a large yard where the kids could play soccer and the chickens and cats roamed free. Dave's generator was much appreciated during "load-shedding," i.e., set periods each day when the government-run electric company turns off everyone's electricity because the power plants can't handle the overall demand. Dave and Rachael were fantastic hosts, attending to our every need and providing great recommendations about local activities and dining. They were extremely communicative, always happy to chat about where to go, how to get there, and what to do while there.

The place was spacious, comfortable, secure, fully equipped and the host Josh was fantastic. Having a washing machine and dishwasher for the long stay was convenient for our team.

Everything was amazing. They had great time while staying in this beautiful place. Hospitality of the landlady and the overall atmosphere were awesome.
