I loved the beach and the surroundings lots of trees so atleast that brought a lot of fresh air and wasn’t very humid. Loved the good food only wish they had more traditional Swahili food like ugali otherwise it was good.

The hotel is very tidy, clean, and very quiet. It overlooks a very beautiful beach. The best part is that it's new and makes you feel like you're really in Zanzibar. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. I especially like the hotel manager, Jola, who was wonderful and welcoming. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this comfortable and wonderful place. I would like to thank the hotel owner who offered us free massage sessions, as Ali was friendly and hospitable as well.

By far our favorite hotel. We booked the garden view pool villa for 1 day and visited during our honeymoon. They organized a surprise for us with candles and flowers which made us so happy. All stuff were genuine and helpful. Breakfast and dinner was unreal and during dinner we had live music playing cocktails were very good as well. The main pool was very unique and the pool in our room was bigger than what I imagined. The rooms were very luxurious and beautiful. Also, when my husband had a sunburn, they brought us the hotel's doctor to check on him which we appreciated a lot. We had a great stay and thank you very much for this!

Excellent hotel, the best on Zanzibar. Big, clean, green territory- native forest has been preserved and there are lots of different birds living here, not only crowns, if you know, what I mean ;) Bungalows design is astonishing, you will stay in the room with great comfort and visual pleasure. Staff is very well trained and ready to help in any possible situation, you literally need to worry about nothing during your stay here - this is exactly what locals call “hakuna matata”. Internet connection is fast and stable. Clean, sandy beach and unforgettable sunsets.

Our stay was honestly amazing — probably one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The staff were super friendly, really thoughtful, and made us feel special the whole time. The resort is gorgeous, with beautiful gardens, stunning ocean views, plenty of privacy, and clean, comfy, luxurious rooms. The food was incredible too — every meal felt like a treat. Tulia is one of those places you just never want to leave.

Very beautiful beach and a lovely little village.

Very beautiful beach and a lovely little village. At low tide you can take a perfect walk along the shore. There is some seaweed on the beach, but it is still a gorgeous white sand beach with beautiful blue water. The only downside: there are a lot of beach vendors who constantly approach you. Personally, I found it too much. You want to enjoy a quiet walk along the beach, but that is basically impossible. Even when I clearly avoided eye contact, they would still come up to me. I understand they are trying to make a living, but the constant approaches felt quite disrespectful and really took away from the relaxing experience.

The city is amazing, beaches are stunning, but the island is not ready for tourism yet. They are always agressively trying to sell you everything, from coconuts, to taxi rides and boat tours. It is very hard to walk on the streets or at the beach, you can barely look at the view, I was constantly focused on the people around me.

We went to Al Casbah for dinner - an eclectic fusion of Swahili and Algerian dishes - Most delicious. I definitely recommend it. We also went to the Italian Restaurant - Giorgio's. Homemade pasta which was delicious and a lovely host - would strongly recommend this restaurant too. The town itself is very dirty, very busy and a little overwhelming. The beach is tidal so good for long walks at low tide, not passable at high tide except for kite surfers. Food at the beach is expensive and not very good. Too many hawkers bothering you for sales. The nearby Blue Lagoon (13kms) is excellent for snorkeling ( you do need a boat though) and the Rock Restaurant is sublime!

We loved the accommodation in a beautiful garden setting.

We loved the accommodation in a beautiful garden setting. Comfortable cottage with aircon and small kitchen. Lovely breakfast nook under a bedouin in garden. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast. We had a delicious dinner cooked by the hosts. We should’ve stayed a day longer. Jambiane is a lovely beach town. We went snorkeling in the am and sailing in the afternoon on a wooden sail boat. Jambiane snorkeling and beach restaurants are also the most affordable in Zanzibar thus far.

It is a very quite hotel, lots of space for all the guests, the deck is amazing. They have loungers which aren't on the beach which you end up being grateful for as sometimes the locals "beach boys" can get a bit much, but you experience them everywhere in Zanzibar. The tide does go out quite a bit on the East Coast, so not a lot of prime swimming time. We loved the staff and they were very attentive and friendly. We had a rented car so drove up to Nungwi for a vibe for a day, it was about a 30minute drive. About 5 minutes walk from the hotel there were two great "local-ish" restuarants run by local guys. The one was called Marlin local restaurant and the other one was called Yellow Coco Restaurant, the food was exceptional and worth going out of your comfort zone for. We did go at the end of June just before major tourist season hits, so it might be louder closer to tourist season, but we really feel like this place exceeded our requirements and expectations. One thing to note is the bar and restaurant at the hotel do charge dollar prices, so going to the local restaurant really helped us budget wise.

The beach is really outstanding, white fine sand, incredible colours of the sea and always able to swim in both high and low tide. It finishes there unfortunately. Beach boys and vendors hassle you all day. Very noisy beach with music, jet skis, vendors, tourists - also the areas for swimming are very limited by bouys and cords to stop the boats and jetskis from entering. There are quieter areas you can walk to but you’ll get hassled as soon as you put down your towel. This beach is struggling to find an identity due to all the chaos. Restaurants in the area are limited and average at best both in terms of quality of food and furnishings. Outside the beach on the main street there are tons of taxi drivers waiting for you, motorbikes, scooters driving past. Kendwa beach is a postcard paradise but unfortunately the reality is the polar opposite.
