Great location. Great staff. Can't say enough good about helpful staff. Loved the garden and all the plants beautifully planted. The patio area for lounging is an excellent space. Room was spacious with 2 beds and still enough room to move around easily. We also got breakfast which was super convenient. We had an issue with our shower head and they resolved it right away. We highly recommend this place if staying in Panajachel.

The Christmas decorations were really cute! The beds and lining are top quality and super comfy. They provide toiletries and a small sewing kit. They drove me to the station and allowed me to stay in the hotel even after the checkout time. Breakfast was really good too! Scrambled eggs with hashbrowns, bread, and beans. Very typical from Guatemala. The staff is very nice and helpful. Would repeat!

The staff was super friendly and always willing to help with anything. The breakfasts were delicious and at night you can't miss the fireplace in the dining room which is perfect for a good wine, hot chocolate or coffee. The views of the lake with the volcanoes are spectacular at any time of day and the hotel is perfect for simply taking a break and enjoying what the day has to offer.

Hotel Casa Real Boutique Monterrico in La Candelaria has 5-star accommodations with a garden, a restaurant and a bar. The hotel has both free WiFi and free private parking.
Guest review
Casa Real Boutique Hotel is a gem in the Monterrico area. Located in Aldea Candelaria, it is much more private and exclusive than the busier spots closer to the main town.
The vibes were incredibly chill and the property is right on the beach, so you get that perfect mix of ocean breeze and quiet relaxation. The staff is famous for being super attentive. They really go out of their way to make you feel at home.
The pool is so refreshing, with drinks/food severed to us poolside, and the pool area looks incredible when lit up at night.
Both the food and service at the on-site restaurant were amazing. It felt like we had a private chef. We ordered the family size shrimp which was a massive 2 pounds of shrimp with all the sides, truly delicious. They also have room service, but we preferred to sit in the patio to view the ocean.
The room was clean, comfortable, and most importantly, they have AC that actually works.
Ernesto was very welcoming and always asked us if we needed anything else. Our Spanish is limited, yet he so proficient with Google Translate that we never had an issue. Uber is quite sparse, but Ernesto has local drivers that he can call for Transportation if you would like to go into town to walk around or to release the Sea Turtles. Personally, I would prefer to just stay at Casa Real and listen to the waves crashing.

This hotel is truly remarkable. Its architecture not only dazzles the eye but also ingeniously combats Petén's high temperatures. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the hotel's "no music" policy preserves its serene atmosphere, offering a perfect escape from city life.
We especially adore the tranquil lake harbors for swimming and relaxation.

Aviva Hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a private beach area and terrace in Tzununá. This 5-star hotel offers a tour desk.
Guest review
Nestled in the breathtaking mountainscape surrounding Lake Atitlán, Aviva Boutique Hotel is a true treasure. From the moment we booked, our host Adam reached out to ensure our arrival and stay would be seamless. That thoughtful communication set the tone for what would become an unforgettable experience.
Every inch of this place reflects the care, pride, and passion of its owners, hosts, and staff. It’s clear that Aviva is more than a hotel—it’s a lovingly curated haven. The design is both striking and harmonious, with massive, stunning rocks integrated beautifully into the architecture. The way nature and design blend together here is absolutely thrilling to the senses.
We were especially touched by the attention to detail and the warm, personalized touches that made us feel not just welcome, but truly valued. The inclusion of local artwork throughout the property added a vibrant and meaningful layer to our stay—each piece telling a story and celebrating the rich culture of the region.
Staying at Aviva wasn’t just a vacation—it was a sweet and soulful experience that brought joy to me and my family. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of our return.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for something special, serene, and deeply memorable.
